Not the Big Snooze Too

Not the Big Snooze Too was the second of two events taking place on Friday 23rd March to highlight the issue of homelessness in Leicester.

Sixteen members of Leicester Children’s Council held their own sleep out at Hamilton Library. The event was supported by Tina Barton of somewhere_to, a national project to match young people with spaces to do the things they want to do.

Hamilton library proved to be the perfect location. As well as the library’s indoor space, the young people were able to use the garden to experience what it might be like to sleep outside in the cold.

The young people kept in touch with the sponsored sleep out at Grace Road and after a question and answer session with Action Homeless Chief Executive, Rob Parkinson, earlier in the evening they continued to email Rob with a question about homelessness on the hour every hour throughout the night.

Citizens Eye were there to film the question and answer session so take a look at the videos on you tube

The Children’s Council raised a fantastic £300 for Action Homeless.
