Volunteer
We always need volunteers to support our work with homeless people. Whatever your background, interests, or time you have available you’ll find volunteering with us a rewarding experience.
Become a volunteer mentor
If you have had personal experience of homelessness yourself and would be interested in becoming a volunteer mentor we’d love to hear from you. In this role you’ll be meeting with some of our service users, sharing your experiences and encouraging them to achieve their aspirations.
Full training will be given and you’ll receive regular support from our resettlement team. For further details please contact Tina Pearce on 0116 2211874 or email tinapearce@actionhomeless.org.uk
Be a volunteer befriender
We welcome volunteers with all backgrounds and experiences as befrienders. This is an important role which involves visiting and supporting service users who have moved into their own homes after leaving Action Homeless accommodation.
Full training will be given and you’ll receive regular support from our resettlement team. For further details please contact Tina Pearce on 0116 2211874 or email tinapearce@actionhomeless.org.uk
Join our resettlement team
We are always looking for volunteers who can help out with weekly drop in sessions at our resettlement service. The drop-in sessions offer information and advice to service users as well as an informal opportunity to get together and share experiences. You’ll be joining a friendly group of staff and volunteers committed to making a difference to people’s lives.
