Please note that our most recent recruitment round has now closed. Any further opportunities will be advertised on our website and shared on our social media.

Help Shape a Future Where Everyone in Leicester Has a Safe, Stable Home

Are you ready to join a team that believes everyone should have a secure place to call home? Action Homeless is seeking new Trustees to bring fresh perspectives, diverse skills, and a shared commitment to ending homelessness in Leicester.

Our Trustees form a dynamic, engaged Board that provides strategic oversight and helps drive meaningful change for people affected by homelessness. If you want to use your experience, judgement, and passion to make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.

About Action Homeless

Our mission is simple but ambitious: to break the cycle of homelessness in Leicester. We tackle the root causes of homelessness and provide long‑term solutions, not temporary fixes.

  • We currently provide over 250 safe and secure homes for people who have experienced homelessness.
  • Our strategy focuses not only on housing, but also on the support and aftercare that prevent people from returning to crisis.
  • We are committed to expanding our housing provision and strengthening the services that help people rebuild their lives.

As our Chair, Sue Billington, puts it:

“We all strive to make a difference, but can you also care enough to commit your time, your expertise and take the strategic responsibility bestowed on a Board director, so you do make a difference?”

  • Independent judgement and consistently high standards
  • Willingness to contribute time, energy, and insight
  • Ability to attend bi‑monthly evening board and sub‑committee meetings
  • Skills or lived experience that can strengthen our Board

Time Commitment

Trustees are expected to:

  • Attend bi‑monthly board meetings (after 5pm)
