A team effort: Clients help to design new Action Homeless football kit
At Action Homeless we have been facilitating informal football sessions for clients from across our services for the several years now, and have seen the benefits of exercise and a sense of community leading to increased confidence and improved wellbeing of people who take part. Thanks to funding from Sports England and The National Lottery, we have been able to expand these sessions, making the Action Homeless football team a key part of the health and wellbeing opportunities we offer to clients.

As part of this funding, we have been able to purchase a brand new football kit for the team, which has been designed with input from both clients and staff.
The new kit includes everything players will need, including matching socks and boots, as well as dedicated items for goal keepers. Clients and staff worked together to design the kit, using our brand colours and including a phoenix as part of the logo.
The phoenix on our logo was chosen by clients as a symbol of positivity; overcoming difficult times and looking towards the future.
We are now at a point where enthusiasm among our clients for being part of an Action Homeless football team is at an all time high. Our team is unique in that it is put together and organised by dedicated staff from within Action Homeless, who are familiar to our clients and who have built up trust with them over a period of time. The funding we have received will allow us to build on the momentum and enthusiasm we have already, and allow even more people to get involved.
