Action Homeless seeks Trustees

At Action Homeless we are currently seeking new Trustees with a variety of skills and backgrounds to join the Board. Our Trustees are part of a dynamic and committed team providing strategic oversight to improve the lives of people affected by homelessness in Leicestershire.

As an organisation we want to make a difference and we are looking for trustees who want to make a difference too. Action Homeless’ Strategy centres on breaking the cycle of homelessness in Leicester by addressing a wide range of issues that lead to someone experiencing homelessness. We currently provides over 250 safe and secure homes for people who have experienced homelessness. To extend this provision is part of the driving force of our strategy, but it’s not just about a roof over a head; it is about the support and aftercare that are essential in preventing a perpetuating cycle of homelessness.

“We all strive to make a difference, but can you also care enough to commit your time, your expertise and will you take the strategic responsibility bestowed on a Board director, so you do make a difference?” Sue Billington, Chair, Action Homeless

You can read our Chair’s letter to prospective Trustees here.

Trustees will need to be able to commit the necessary time and energy to Action Homeless, attend bi-monthly board and sub-committee meetings, have a real interest in the aims of the charity and demonstrate independent judgement and consistently high standards.

For an informal conversation about the role please contact Mark Grant, Chief Executive, on 07949153721. To apply, please send a CV along with a covering letter stating what you could bring to the role to markgrant@actionhomeless.org.uk.
