Building Blocks funding success

Action Homeless is pleased to announce that it has secured 3 years of funding from BBC Children in Need to continue with Building Blocks. Building Blocks is a specialist project designed to support young children (aged 0-12 years) who have been affected by homelessness and domestic violence. The £51,018 grant will pay for a Play Facilitator who will offer children and their parents support through one to one appointments and group play activities.

The children set to benefit from this continued funding will be living in temporary accommodation provided by Action Homeless and may have faced trauma as a result of homelessness or domestic violence.

Eilidh Stringer, funding manager, said ‘we’re thrilled that BBC Children in Need have been able to continue their support for Building Blocks. The children that we work with have faced so much uncertainty in their young lives and it is fantastic that we can offer them space to play, make friends and get professional help to deal with the difficulties they have experienced.’
