Refurbishment at Engage underway

Work on the Engage wellbeing hub has reached an exciting new stage. The refurbishment and reopening of the hub has been made possible with cash from the Severn Trent Community Fund.  Our lead volunteer Kiera Spriggs from Pure Table Top has been working with her colleagues on a design for Engage based on a brief provided by Action Homeless. The brief was to create a warm and welcoming environment for our clients, and transform spaces such as the community front room, private appointment rooms and garden areas into spaces that will be appealing and useful for a variety of different activities that will take place at the Hub.

A team of volunteers led by Kiera will be onsite at the Hub over several days this week to put the finishing touches on these spaces and bring the whole design brief of the project together. The project has also been supported by Action Trust who have spent time over the last few weeks preparing the space for decorating. Old workbenches and furniture have been removed, walls have been prepared for painting and flooring has been cleaned.

Once the final decorating work has been completed, the Hub will soon be open during the day and staffed by a team of volunteers. There will be a calendar of events on offer, such as coffee mornings, book clubs and cooking lessons. The Hub will provide more opportunities for people to receive support, as well as build relationships and pick up skills.
