Tim joined Action Homeless in 2024.
Tim’s early background was in sales and sales management in the healthcare sector before developing a career in people and organisational development, working at a senior level for a range of large organisations including Boots, Currys, PC World, Homebase and Halfords. Tim has also run his own consultancy business and took time out to complete a postgraduate qualification in Personal and Business Coaching before joining South Yorkshire Housing Association as OD Lead, helping the organisation work through major change, including the shift to an agile working culture.
Upon leaving SYHA Tim transitioned into retirement as a freelance coach and consultant, working primarily in social housing before retiring to focus on his trustee work. Tim’s board experience is substantial, including with Framework, the Nottingham-based homeless charity, sitting on both the Audit and the Governance Committees. Tim has also chaired a Multi-Academy Trust and has over 15 years of school governance experience.
Why Action Homeless? Tim says,
“Having taken a break, I wanted to step back in to a board role and felt drawn to the homelessness sector. I feel I have something to offer with relevant experience, knowledge and the capacity to do something more than just supporting from the side-lines. I feel strongly in creating a fairer society and in supporting those who are vulnerable and disadvantaged on their journey from helplessness to hope. I am excited by the mission and vision of the organisation and want to help Action Homeless in its ambition to break the cycle of homelessness”.
