Volunteers at Bonchurch
On Friday 6th May we had a group of volunteers join us at our Bonchurch project to help out with some much needed gardening and painting.
The group of volunteers were from Druck Baker Hughes in Leicester, and kindly donated their time to help spruce up the garden to the rear of the property. Before they stared working on the garden it was overgrown, messy and uninviting for our clients, who would like to use the garden to relax and unwind as well as escape their day-to-day worries.
The team moved the plants which had already grown into a designated planting area, dug up old and dead plants, mowed the garden and painted the shed too. This has given the garden a huge lift as well as lifting the residents too, who also came to help out and engage with the activities. The garden can now be planted ready for the summer and for more plants to grow now it has been cleared.
In just one day the team has transformed the garden and given the residents somewhere to relax and feel safe as well as to unwind and forget their worries.
We would like to say a huge thank you to the team from Druck Baker Hughes for all their help and hard work. It has transformed the garden and our residents will enjoy being able to relax in their new space.
