We’re opening our doors: Open House event

On Friday 26th April Action Homeless will be holding our first Open House event, opening up the doors of some of our key projects and providing an opportunity for individuals from partner agencies to visit our range of projects, meet our team and learn more about our services which are designed to break the cycle of homelessness.

The majority of our properties are centrally located within Leicester, and this provides a chance for people to view a wide variety of our projects in one day, allowing them to learn more about our approach and get a feel for our different services and properties.

The Open House will have a drop in format, and we are particularly encouraging people to attend who are working alongside clients who have a housing need in order to provide an insight into the pathways and routes into our accommodation and services.

A member of the team at each project will be present to greet everyone on arrival, ready to talk about the project, and refreshments will be made available to guests. Take a look at  our Action Homeless Open House locations.

The projects included in the Open House will include our vibrant and social Community Lounge space which offers a range of activities and events for people living in our accommodation, as well as projects such as Flora Lodge which provides housing and intensive support to people with long term histories of street homelessness. We will also be opening the doors to our Community Transitions Project which works in collaboration with Leicestershire NHS Partnership Trust and supports people to transition towards independent living after being discharged from inpatient mental health services. Additionally, we will also be inviting visitors into our Accommodation Plus service which offers long term housing solutions to people who’ve experienced homelessness.

Our range of flexible, accessible and inclusive accommodation provides people with dignity, privacy and safety, as well as immediate and practical support. We’re looking forward to welcoming guests into our accommodation to see for themselves how integral it is as a vital component in breaking the cycle of homelessness.
