Action Homeless is committed to ending the cycle of homelessness and the Safety and Response Officers play a vital role in ensuring everyone has a decent and safe place to call home.

This fantastic opportunity will see you support our services, to maintain the safety for our clients and security of our properties.

As a safety and response officer you will:

· Respond to any emergency situations that occur

· Provide a welcoming, responsive and proactive presence to our customers and visitors ensuring their safety and the safety of the buildings is upheld.

· Carry out checks and regular patrols of the buildings, responding to any incidents and involving emergency services as and when is necessary.

· Monitor and operate our CCTV systems across multiple sites and our door entry systems

· Responsible for Health and Safety inspection whilst on duty, taking action when required and for implementing fire and fire alarm procedures including evacuation

To be successful you required:

· An approachable manner with the ability to remain calm.

· Ability to operate CCTV systems and security equipment

· Ability to operate smart phone technology and use ICT equipment for completion of reports and records

· Understand Health and Safety

· Ability to work as part of team but be as equally comfortable working alone

· Clear communication skills and the ability to manage time and prioritise

· Must be able to drive and have access to own vehicle

Action Homeless are looking for new people to join our existing Board of Trustees. At an exciting time of development and as we embark on a new 5 year strategy, we are looking for Board members who can bring their knowledge, skills and expertise to support the charity in its mission to break the cycle of homelessness and prevent people from having to sleep rough.

You will become part of a dynamic and committed team providing strategic oversight to improve the lives of people affected by homelessness in Leicestershire.

Action Homeless is a well-established charity and has been part of the Leicester community for over 50 years. We are an ambitious and forward thinking organisation with clear aims and objectives, as set out in our Strategic Plan. We’re looking to recruit new trustees, from a range of backgrounds, who can help us to achieve these over the coming years by bringing enthusiasm, personal experience and imagination.

You will need to be able to commit the necessary time and energy to Action Homeless, attend bi-monthly board and sub-committee meetings, have a real interest in the aims of the charity and demonstrate independent judgement and consistently high standards.

Our Wellbeing Hub, Engage, is reopening thanks to a grant from the Severn Trent Community Fund and we are putting in place a team of volunteers to support with various activities and bring the space back to life.

You’ll be part of creating a welcoming and inclusive environment to people who are experiencing homelessness, delivering a varied programme of events and activities which help to break the cycle of homelessness.

We are looking to recruit bright and enthusiastic sessional workers to cover various shifts at our properties. This post offers ad-hoc work to cover staff absences.

You will need a general understanding of homelessness and the issues that our service users face, be able to work at short notice across a variety of shifts day and night. You will also need to be flexible and adaptable in different job roles as you will have various duties from working in the kitchen to dealing with rent payments.
